The everyday extraordinary

Over my Thanksgiving break, I spent so much time with my children. I just watched them play, listened to them sing and do all the things I miss while I work. I picked up my camera and started taking pictures of them doing their everyday things. It is really amazing, you know, when you stop and think about how great it is to be their age and have no worries. They get pleasure in the most simple things. They were so excited to get coloring books and to play in the leaves. My son even had a great time playing with rocks in the dirt. It got me thinking--when did I stop taking pleasure in the little things?

When we got back, we went to church on Sunday and the message seemed to reinforce what God was already putting in my heart. As adults we often times get so wrapped up in the next big thing or accomplishment that we forget to be thankful for the everday extraordinary things. So this blog post is a challenge of sorts--find pleasure and be thankful for the things we have. Take the time to make memories and even more important--document them.

It is that time of year

I am up to my eyeballs in editing. I thought I'd let you know I am still around, just playing catch up. Here is a sample of what I have been doing.

If it makes you feel better..

To all my clients who stress when they can't get their children to listen, look at the camera or smile--I bring you a picture of my son. He does not like to have his picture taken either!

The W Family-DFW family photographer

We are so blessed in friendships. This family has been one of our closest friends for years. My daughter was convinced she was going to marry their son. She's four--there is still time! I love this time of year. They had the perfect fall colors in their outfits!

The Brumley kids in black and white-DFW children's photographer

Do not adjust your monitors. This post is really in black and white. I am generally a color photo person, but I have clients who prefer black and white. I do have to agree that these photos are wonderful in black and white. So enjoy something a little different today.
