Happy Mother's Day

There are so many things I love about photography and I am so glad that I have pursued my passion. It really started because I kept taking pictures of my daughter. She was the best model for years. She is a little over it right now, but I am hopeful that will change soon.

I know there are so many places that do photography, but I feel I bring something different to bear. I am a mom. I understand what it means to have a beautiful picture of your child. I strive every time to find a pose that will stand the test of time and be cherished by all who receive it.

I am so thankful for my wonderful mother. She has been such an inspiration in so many ways. She loves Jesus and always has the right verse for me. I love her very, very much. I appreciate her even more that I have children of my own. There are so many things you take for granted until you experience it yourself.

Of course, I can't post without pictures so here are a few of my children. They are so different and I couldn't be more proud to be their mother.

Baby Bugs! DFW Children's photographer

My son found some lady bugs while I was trying to take pictures. He loved them and kept calling them baby bugs! I love little things like that.

It is bluebonnet season here in the metroplex. I had to take advantage and photographed two of my favorite subjects, my children.

Snow Day!!!

This has been the most unusual winter here in the metroplex. We have had so many inches of snow today. I took off the over-protective mom hat and put on my "weren't you young once" hat. The kids had a great time. My dog even got in on the action.

Let's go outside!

It rained enough to make my backyard muddy this weekend. My son could hardly stand staying inside. He made it out the doggy door a few times. It is so much fun having a little boy and watching his need to be outside. I can't say that I blame him. I have cabin fever! I have another six month session this weekend. I can't wait!

I'm not a fan of cancer

We were stunned this year when my aunt learned that she had breast cancer. Cancer is such a scary word and something no one wants to imagine in their family. The worst part was that her family had moved to another state and none of our family was close. We just came back from a visit, which was so good for all of us.

For all women, listen to your doctors. Perform self exams and also, be sure to get your mammograms.

If you look closely you will see the outline of their hair makes the shape of a heart. I love it. It wasn't intentional, but I noticed it when I was editing the picture.

My brother's family

This is my brother's family. My gorgeous little nephew, like my brother, has amazingly long and thick eyelashes. I like to joke that I got the brains and my brother got the dimples. The truth is, I love my brother dearly and was so glad to capture a great image of him and his family.

Restful weekend

This weekend I enjoyed a nice break and spent some quality time with my kids. I love the fall in Dallas. We took a wagon ride and the kids played in the neighbor's leaves.

all about vacation

You might be thinking how many pictures did she take on her vacation? Seriously, more than I would like to admit. I'm finally getting through my pictures so I can wallpaper my house in them. I'm kidding, but it is going to be a whole other place with all these pictures!

Sibling kisses

I caught my daughter giving a genuine kiss to my son. It isn't a bad thing, just unexpected and elusive to get on camera at this age. I was so excited I couldn't even center the picture, but I caught a real moment.

A special relationship

There are moments that I wish I could bottle up and save for later. These are two of them. My daughter and husband have a very special bond. I'm still sorting through the hundreds of pictures I took on vacation. It's rainy here and I needed something sunny to enjoy!

Hawaii continued

I had to share this picture. The people at the Marriott called her Little Miss Aloha. She said it to everyone that walked by!

Hawaii continued

I got some quality time with my son while my daughter and husband took a nap. Here is a photo of him showing his excitement to be in Hawaii.

I am usually never in pictures with my kids since I am behind the lens, but my husband took this picture of me and my daughter.

Koi pond in paradise

We are enjoying some family time in Hawaii. One of the awesome activities they have for kids is feeding the koi fish. My daughter got to feed them while my son watched from the bridge. She had just woke up from a nap, so she was not ready to have her picture taken.
