I took a little blog break

I have certain blogs I like to check out and I hate when they go on vacation, or don't post for a while. My apologies for the lack of posts. My family took a much needed break to vacation in San Antonio. We took the kids to Sea World and had a wonderful time. I bet you are thinking I am going to post some pictures from the vacation, right? I forgot my camera. All I had was my new point and shoot, which was almost like not having a camera for me. I was really upset at first, but then I realized I was not stressing about trying to get a great shot. I was just genuinely enjoying my kids and being in the moment. I think there is a lot to be said for that. I now see the blessing! I hope you all enjoyed your summer and, of course, I cannot do a post without pictures. Here are some recent photos that totally capture the essence of my children. They always have their eyes wide open and are looking at the world around them. My son can spot airplanes in the sky like no one else. My daughter is always in amazement at the flowers and trees around. Life is beautiful, my friends!

Saylor (4 days new) DFW newborn photographer

This week I got to meet miss Saylor. Love her little name and she was just so good to me. Her session was so much fun and I got to photograph her parents, too. I also had the assistance of my good friend, Meredith which is such a blessing. I am able to do so much more when I have help.

Riley (3) and Reed (8 months)

These are the gorgeous boys from my most recent session. Bless their hearts-it was hot, but they still managed to smile for me.

The B Family Session-Irving, TX family photographer

I love this family! They were so good during our scorcher of a shoot. August in Dallas is so hot. I loved this series of photos because it really showed what life is like with young kids.

I heart faces-Random Acts of Kindness

This week's theme at I heart faces is random acts of kindness. A few weeks ago I took my son to a play place called Going Bonkers. There are a bunch of mazes for kids. My son is a little small for his age, but he doesn't know it! He wanted to play in the area for the bigger kids. A sweet little girl named Shirley kept helping him. She was there with friends and could have ignored him being stuck, but she kept an eye out for him. Every time he was stuck, she went to help him. I was so touched by it. When were were about to leave, I asked Shirley where her mother was and gave her my card. I told her I wanted to give her the gift of a session. This post is about Shirley's act of kindness. I wanted her to know how much I appreciated her taking care of my little guy! God bless you, Shirley. I wish we all had hearts like yours!
